Harvesting the Produce


Here are pics of produce that has been harvested from my garden this year

Beets blanched and ready to freeze. Put the whole beet with one-inch of stem attached into boiling water. Boil the beets until almost tender then put into a sink of very cold water, peel skin and cut off stems, cut and then freeze into containers.

 

I also really like the sweeter taste of Golden beets, here they are ready for freezing:

 

I use the Food Saver for freezer as it does a superb job of keeping produce without getting freezer burn.
